A Wicked Waterloo Week

 Photography Field Trip

June 02, 7PM-10PM

A full moon is on the horizon and photographer, Sylvia Galbraith, is using this natural night light to teach a hands on low light photography course. Galbraith will spend the first hour indoors where she will cover various night time shooting techniques before heading to the meadows of the Arboretum to capture the setting sun and shoot stills into the moonlight. A tripod is recommended for best results and the course welcomes all skill levels. So grab your camera equipment and umbrella. The rain could add a magical touch to those night time photos. Location, OAC Centennial Arboretum Centre. Course fee is $55.00. maximum 16 adults, registration deadline is June 1. Ryoji Ikeda

June 2, 8PM-10PM

World renowned audio visual artist Ryoji Ikeda is coming to Waterloo Region for his first performance in Ontario! He is international recognized for creating engaging environments, orchestrating sound, images, physical phenomena, and mathematical notions to create an engaging live performance and an experience you won't forget. Ikeda will be present Datamatics v2.0, a project that explores the potential to perceive the invisible multi-substance of data that permeates our world. The performance will take place in the Perimeter Institute, Mike Lazaridis Theatre of Ideas. For tickets call 519-883-4480. Black Smith Artist Exhibit

June 03, 9AM-5PM

Watch as The Ontario Artist Black Smith Association hammers in their art at The Waterloo Regional Museum this weekend. The OABA will be demonstrating both the modern and traditional blacksmith techniques. The demonstration will run throughout the day. Interrupted Patterns Exhibit by Artist Pam Lobb

June 7 5PM-7PM

 
Pam Lobb uses a melody of various art techniques to create beautiful prints remenicant of Victorian Porcelain. Her lithographs and monoprints can be appreciated at the Rotunda Gallery on the main floor of Kitchener's city hall. The exhibit is rich in local history. At the base of each piece is a Victorian doily collected from dinner wear that has been passed through generations in New Hamburg, Goderich, or Clinton, Ontario. Trees

June 12, 7PM-9PM

 Learn more about our local horticulture. Sean Fox will be discussing pollination, fall colour, aging, disease resistance as you enjoy a beautiful walk through a world of trees. The sessions includes a take home book on how to care for trees and takes place in the Hilton Centre Arboretum at the University of Guelph.
